    波隆纳鲁沃位于斯里兰卡国东北部，距首都科伦坡东北216公里，是斯里兰卡中北省波隆纳鲁沃区的主要城市。Kaduruwela d区包括波隆纳鲁沃新城和波隆纳鲁沃另一半，目前仍然是波隆纳鲁沃王国古皇城。

Polonnaruwa is located at the northeast part of Sri Lanka, 216km northeast to Colombo- capital of the country. It is the main town of Polonnaruwa District in the North Central Province, Sri Lanka. Kaduruwela area is the Polonnaruwa New Town and the other part of Polonnaruwa, remains as the royal ancient city of polonnaru kingdom.

    波隆纳鲁沃是在阿奴拉达普勒于993年毁灭之后斯里兰卡建立的第二代首都城市。这里除了朱罗王朝修建的婆罗门教遗迹之外，还有波洛卡摩婆诃王在12世纪修建的神话般的花园城市等不朽遗迹。1982年联合国教科文组织将波隆纳鲁沃古城作为文化遗产，列入《世界遗产名录》。

Polonnaruwa was the second capital of Sri Lanka after the destruction of Anuradhapura in 993. It comprises, besides the Brahmanic monuments built by the Cholas, the monumental ruins of the fabulous garden-city created by Parakramabahu I in the 12th century. The Ancient City of Polonnaruwa has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982.

    波隆纳鲁沃是斯里兰卡王国历史第二座最古老的城市，国王舍耶婆诃一世首先宣布其为王国的首都。1070年舍耶婆诃一世打败了入侵的朱罗入侵者，再次重新统一了这个国家。

The second most ancient of Sri Lanka's kingdoms, Polonnaruwa was first declared the capital city by King Vijayabahu I, who defeated the Chola invaders in 1070 to reunite the country once more under a local leader.
